[epilepsy] Re: driving after sz

Two Doctors recommended I get an Electric Wheelchair to handle steep terrain
and long distances, saving the time I spend on my bad leg for when I reach
my destination. Much like people drive a car, and then walk once they
arrive.

ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia) is paying for everything
the doctors say I need, but since I have Epilepsy, they're afraid I might
have a seizure and hit someone on the sidewalk or in a store.

Before going any farther, ICBC demanded I get a letter from my Doctor
declairing that I'm stable, which I did (seizure free ever since the
incident: Jan 25 2010 = almost 2 years). In fact I got the approval from my
GP and a Neurologist!

But ICBC still disagrees to fund the purchase of a Power Chair based on their gut feeling that people with epilepsy are an accident waiting to happen.
