Drinking water, good alkaline antioxidant water saved my daughter when 7
years of docs, tests and meds still had her a living zombie and seizing 30
50 times a month.
It is hard to understand for many but water is so critical to health and
electrical balance in the whole body. Tea and coffee while they "Taste
better" are diuretics which only increase the need for even more hydration.
Drinking anything other than water also requires digestion which uses up
more mineral stores of the body to do so also. Proper hydration is so
important for the liver as it is where most all enzymes and hormones are
produced that fuel and regulate brain activity too including the production
of tryptophan and glutathione. One of the side effects of Trileptal is liver
issues, I know my daughter has been on it since 18 months old.
This lady explains it well and it is so true, I know as I've studied
hydration and Oxidative stress and antioxidants now for 3 years. This is not
a plug for her or her products just great info all should know especially
those with Epi.

Yeah, it's one of those quirky little effects. I'm not fond of water either,
but I love coffee. i've only had this happen once, but that was enough!

>Hi elizabeth. I have never heard of that before! I have epilepsy and vary
rarely drink water. I don't like it on its own it has no flavour to it. So
I drink either coffee, tea or cordial or lemonade. Because they have
flavour. I drink plenty of liquid per day.

>If you read the warnings, drinking too much water can alter the blood
sodium levels, and it's a side effect of Trileptal. I've been on it for
several years without a problem, but in December it caused a major
imbalance. I had to drink a ton of gatorade. So now I just keep it on hand.
My doctor said not a lot of people have a problem with this, but there are
some that it knocks their electrolytes off all the time.
