Interesting, does Zyrtek effect AEDs? I take Keppra.
I found out you can't eat grapefruit on a lot of AEDs too.
I had a seizure in the UK while on their version of Sudafed, I asked the doctor if that could be the cause and they said "no" and gave me a pregnancy test instead and sent me home.
This is interesting to me, because I've only had 2 seizures out of the blue. Every other seizure was when I had a high fever, was taking sudafed (UK kind), or was taking antimalarials. I had a seizure immediately after taking dioxycyclin but the doctor told me that "absolutely wasn't the cause." I still had my license taken away for 6 months after that one. One "unprovoked" seizure I had after eating at a Chinese restuarant, my mom though I might have eaten shrimp, which I am allergic to, the doctor said that wasn't a possible reaction.
Now I take Keppra, even though I've only had 2 "unprovoked" seizures in 30 years.
One doctor told me "there's a lot we don't know about the brain."
Probably the most honest thing ever uttered by a doctor.
Thanks,
Kate
