Re: [epilepsy] Trileptol

Hi elizabeth.  I have never heard of that before!  I have epilepsy and vary rarely drink water.  I don't like it on its own it has no flavour to it.  So I drink either coffee, tea or cordial or lemonade.  Because they have flavour.  I drink plenty of liquid per day.

If you read the warnings, drinking too much water can alter the blood sodium levels, and it's a side effect of Trileptal. I've been on it for several years without a problem, but in December it caused a major imbalance. I had to drink a ton of gatorade. So now I just keep it on hand. My doctor said not a lot of people have a problem with this, but there are some that it knocks their electrolytes off all the time.
