My doctor told me that seizures don't damage your brain, they just over work your brain and your brain needs to 'rest". I too have memory problems, throbbing migraines and my doctor told me that that is all seizure activity; arg - I hate this.

DorisY,
I am definitely glad I had the surgery, even if I can't remember everything.
Every seizure you have does damage to the brain. I am not seizure free, but I
am not having 25 seizures a month either. I do wonder if my memory will get
worse, but everyday I don't have a seizure, is wonderful.Lamictal helped
with my seizures, but I broke out in a rash, so I could not take it.I had
the surgery in 2004. I didn't even have a life. All I did was take medicine
and sleep it seemed like. I hope my memory doesn't get worse, but I will deal
with it. Take care.
