Hi Staci,
I know the book talks about the hunger issue and how that gets better over time. I know it did for me. I also noticed that when I ate a meal higher in protein and good fats...I did not get so hungry during the fast time. I am not sure about the thyroid issue,not sure how fasting affects that.
I still get hungry during the fast time but it is manageable.
My fasting window is closer to 20 hours than 19 but at first, it was 19 on the dot.I think that was more out of habit. I really notice that I eat more out of boredom than hunger. If I stay busy than I rarely notice the hunger.
In the book it talks about how we will 'battle' our habits with food. I know that is what made it more difficult for me the first 2 weeks. I would get bored and go to the fridge and not even think about what I was doing.
I know that you can email Bert from the website, he will have a better medical explanation for the thyroid issue.
