HI all,
This is my first post. My daughter was first diagnosed with absence seizures when she was 3. She has been weaned off Zarontin twice after two years being seizure free and a normal EEG, but seizures have always reoccurred after she was weaned. Since she is now 11 the doctor is recommending lamictal. My daughter is all for it because it will taste better than zarontin (she can't swallow pills). I'm not sure the unknown side effects are worth it. I would appreciate hearing any other stories about using only lamictal for absence and what the side effects are for weaning off of that, as we will surely do in 2 more years. Thanks!
