Re: [epilepsy] reducing meds update

Kelly,

Where is your pain? And do you always have it?

Subject: [epilepsy] reducing meds update

Hi everyone. Wanted to give and update on how it is going dropping my
trileptal. Last Wednesday I made the first drop, dropping 150 mg
morning and night, today I drop another 150 at night. Here is the
interesting things that have happened
--I have rarely ever missed a dose of meds in the last few years, yet in
one week I missed my meds twice! I don't know why, but weird. No
seizures when I did.
-I am less "tired". I can't believe that dropping 300 mg a day of meds
made a difference but it did. I am going to bed later and getting up
just a bit earlier. Granted I am still sleeping about 9 hours a night,
but it's better then it was.
-pain level-hard to say. The two days that were bad were the days I
missed my dose, which means I didn't get my Lyrica either, which helps
control the pain to a tolerable level.

So on to week 2. If my pain is up this week at all, and I don't miss a
dose, I am going to tell my Dr. I can't go off it. I want badly to go
off it, but I also can't tolerate an increase in my pain, since I have
already been tolerating what I can stand on a daily basis. Dropping off
the 300 mg and being less tired is huge to me, so if that's all I get
out of this, so be it.

Kelly
