[Healthy_Recipes_For_Diabetic_Friends] Baked Garlic Wings - 1.2g Carbs

Baked Garlic Wings - 1.2g Carbs

From: Low Carbing Among Friends VIA Facebook  - Recipe courtesy George Stella

I bake chicken wings all the time, as I can get the freshest, cheapest wings from a specialty supermarket a few miles from our house. It's very hard to find real, fresh wings without water added to them in the packaging process these days (the less water added, the crispier the wings will be), but the smaller butchers and markets that package them themselves are usually the best bet. These wings bake up crispy and remind me of fresh, hot garlic bread when you're eating them.
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 60 min
Serves: 12

4 lb fresh chicken wings
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp  salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1. Place oven rack in the center position and preheat to 375 degrees.

2. In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings, olive oil, minced garlic, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper and toss all to coat.

3. Place the coated wings on a sheet pan and bake for 1 hour, or until skin becomes crispy.

4. Sprinkle baked wings with Parmesan cheese while still hot, shaking wings around pan to evenly coat all. Serve immediately.

George's Tips: Line the sheet pan with heavy duty aluminum foil before baking, for an easier clean up. You should still wash the pan, but you definitely won't need to scrub.
Variation: Skip the Parmesan cheese, and try tossing the baked garlic wings in 2 tablespoons of honey before serving for delicious Honey Garlic
