Hi Leah,
You are among friends here!!! Keep in touch with us, maybe you can get some people within the group to email with you and hopefully talk on the phone with them (smile)!
Leah, I've had epilepsy the past 37 years. More than not my seizures weren't under control. I had mostly complex partial seizures. I couldn't drive from 1988-2008. In 2 weeks I will hit 6 1/2 years since I had a left temporal lobectomy, to this time, I'm still seizure free (more than huge smile)!
If you could use a friend to email with, please feel comfortable emailing with me at stephenpales@yahoo.com I'm pretty open about myself always trying to give support to others. In the early 80s I went through a couple years of very serious depression because of my seizures and how everything to do with epilepsy was affecting my life. I'm here Leah if you could use a friend for support. Making friends who can relate to what you are feeling and thinking about are the ones who can help you to not feel so alone!
if anybody else here would like to keep in touch with Leah, let her know in posts!
Steve

Since then my seizures have become intractable, medicine only lessens the amount of grand mals and peti mal. I went from being a very active 30 yr mother of 3 who worked for many years in the operating room, to a shut in who has lost my career of 10 years, cant do anything I once did and now lives as a depressed shut in. I feel alone even though my family is trying hard to help. What do I do? I am on many meds and wonder if I should try anti depression meds. Does anyone have words of advice for me. Thanks, Leah.
