Thank you for the info. Per my families and specialists concerns I went to the er and they ran 8 diffferent tests. For some freak reason the seizure I experienced affected both parts of my brain. I regained all motor functions except my speech. It is still mumbled and I can't make out words. I don't even sound like myself. The neurologists in the hospital as well my own that called into the hospital are not sure if it will come completely back. The only other thing they can run is an mri of my head. They have now directed me to a speech therapist.

How long are your seizures? My daughter many times looses her speech after
tonic clonic seizures she is now ten. The longer stronger the seizure the
longer the loss of speech, however the loss of speech has never been longer
than about 45 minutes. She was young when this started and when we'd talk
with her after they ended she looks somewhat confused and taps on her lips.
It took a while but then we recognized she was signaling us with her hand
that she could speak and learned to nod her head when she felt OK but not
able to talk. Kelly is right, tell your doc about the "Post Ichtal"
condition you are noticing.

It is possible, though I never had it happen to me. Depending on the
area of the brain the seizure originates from it may affect the speech
centers of the brain more then another seizure would. I would make sure
your neurologist knows about it even if you don't visit the ER. It is
always good to update you neurologist with anything new that occurs.
