[epilepsy] Hi Everybody

Hi Everybody,

I'm not sure what or how what I'm going to try and say comes out right because of feelings beginning to hit me tonight. But at times I'm the person who knows how to put myself down more than anybody I know (smile)! Rarely have I met expectations I put on myself all my life. Most my years I was never told I had a learning problem so always failed at what I thought I should be able to do. After high school my epilepsy began back in 1975. Since then my seizures really couldn't get under control. And all of you fully understand how life was changed, big time. Now, 5 years ago Sunday 7am will mark 5 years since my LTL! I've been seizure free since (tears)! When seizures can't get under control, how down we feel can really hurt, can take us down to levels not understood by people who haven't walked in our shoes. If I can say this, anybody can. What I'm saying is nobody can never say never! If anybody ever said that to me before my surgery I would say "yea right"! But I'm telling you, my life has changed in feelings that words can't describe. I laugh at myself for me to say that with as much as I've always known people haven't a clue what I've been through and in many ways still do. But, surgery, seizure free 4 years and 364 days is giving me a feeling that I have to look back at what pain I used to feel and even forgot I used to feel that way 24/7. And now just thinking of those feelings and limitations make me think how did I survive 31 years not having seizures under control? So please please believe me, don't ever say never because I was told that and here I am! Coming on seizure free 5 years just now hitting me in an overwhelming way! Everybody, like I've been saying in this group since the early 90s, take care, keep a smile on your face!

Friends always, Steve
