Hi, Doris.
I can only tell you what helps me, and you should ask your doctor if this is
okay. My seizures have a lot to do with stress, and I discovered if I take
between 1/8 tsp and 1/2 tsp of liquid diphenhydramine hydrochloride (don't know
if I spelled it correctly) I sleep through the night and wake up at a good time
in the morning with no headache, and no seizure.
Beware, though. MacNeill had to take all their Benadryl off the market. I
would be worried if the medicine was back with the problem covered up because
they said consumers could use it anyway. Mildew got into the packaging because
it was sitting on wooden palettes for too long or something like that. I
discovered I was using Wal Mart's version of their medicine and it tasted like
some awful chemical was in it. I was having horrible stomach cramps. Use
another brand that says MacNeill doesn't manufacture or distribute it.
It is also reputed to cause seizures, but so are some seizure and anti anxiety
medicines.
Again, please check with your doctor!!!!!
Kathy

Subject: [epilepsy] Post seizure feelings...
After my seizures which are when asleep, I know right away when awakening, that
it happened. I get dilly of headache especially on one side. At the time of
the seizure, my husband waits till it stops and then gives me Lorazepam which
helps so they do not repeat. This really helps with sleep too for quite awhile.
The apprehension of a seizure when going to sleep, makes it hard to fall
asleep. Often I get up for several hours and get more tired that way. Have you
found anything that may be helping you sleep? My last one was this morning
about 4 AM and I still feel it. Hope all have real nice coming weekend.
Doris
