I think the performances were good....but bottom line is that Prince seemed to be pleased, so that really is all that matters - in my opinion....he smiled, he closed his eyes...he laughed....he got up and grabbed that shoe....I think it was a very good "moment" for him....of course there are TONS of other musicians we would have loved to have seen give tribute, and of course there are endless numbers of songs that would have been perfect, but in the small amount of time, I think it sufficed....Stevie Wonder talking before-hand was nice too....it wasn't an over-the-top performance....it was very nicely done, very respectfully and the recipient was truly touched...you could just see that he was touched....as far as Alicia?? ...I personally thought she was adorable!! ...and we all know she adores Prince already, so I thought that just added to the night to have her little pregnant self crawl up on the piano and pay "tribute" to him as such....I enjoyed it all.... but that's just me.....I do have to say that I totally LOVED Esparanza!!

..and changing subjects.....has anyone mentioned Prince's outfit??? ....I thought he looked elegant as anything!! ...my kids were making fun of him, but they always do....but I thought the outfit adorned him to perfection!!

I agree kasey, think Patti did her thing!!! I actually did like Alicia's performance, I'm bias though cuz that's my girl, but she did surprise every1 even Prince getting up on that piano like that! LOL I know he enjoyed the performance too!
