Re: [epilepsy] light sensitivity-glasses

Hi Kelly,

Sorry to hear about the light sensitvity. I'm glad they can help with the tinted lenses.

I had an eye exam yesterday also. I just wanted to get contact lenses. I was told that I have a high amount of pressure in my eyes. It's in the normal range, but the high end. I was told that this needs to be checked at least once a year. Is this related to epilepsy? Thanks for any information. Take care.

Guess what? I have to wear glasses-not for correction but for extreme
light sensitivity. I finally had my appointment with the
neuro-opthomologist yesterday and discovered that my vision issues are
being caused by extreme light sensitivity not my meds or pressure. The
reaction to lights being turned on, the tracking, stuff looking like it
is moving when it's not, all due to light sensitivity. It is officially
a type of migraine disorder because it causes sensory sensitivity--yeah
just what I needed to be diagnosed with--another disorder! =) Light,
sound, smell, taste are all sensitive. I have sound sensitivity and
smell sensitivity as well. I think I have always had taste sensitivity
that is normal for me.

Well, he can treat the light sensitivity with glasses that have a
special tint on them. It has been proven to help take away most of the
visual symptoms. Won't help with the other ones. So I will now be
wearing glasses with no correction on them, just this special tint!
Actually my vision is better then 20/20 still, so it's a bit ironic.

After doing a bit of reading about this, one of the articles mentioned
"light sensitive epileptics" and it got me thinking. How many people
with epilepsy who have a light sensitivity trigger could be helped by this!!
