I don't think anybody got what he was saying save just perhaps Bria, Mayte, Mani or someone who's spent an extensive amount of time with him. I'm the point now where I could care less what anyone thinks save "us" on the Yahoo! Groups and some members of some of the Prince Fan Forums I'm a member of. I am so used to defending him that it makes me look like a fanatic. Which I am hardcore and everyone that knows me knows that, if I allow them in my "inner circle", so to speak. I thought P's speech was very humble and direct to the point. It sounded like he was talking to us and himself. It kind of reminded me how sometimes I've heard my parents say, don't make the same mistakes I have. It's in the same "vein". I do not feel he was talking about the "music" he may have been talking about his business decisions or perhaps things he said in the moment of passion about this or that. I

> U all know what? I was hoping that P would have made it plain & get deeper on what he meant by that. If he's talking about his music, I am confused. Why? Because from day 1, this genius had a positive message generally in his music. He may have took an abstract way in delivering his message. But it was positive nonetheless. And is his past works & per4mances were "mistakes", his "mistakes" sure made him who he is 2day. Not 2 mention, made him crazy RICH! And pretty much influenced about a billion artists...myself included.

They started saying stuff like "he should be talking about his mistakes on YouTube & that Hip Hop crap instead of dissing on his career!" I couldn't argue or defend his statement because I, myself didn't get where he was coming from. It did kinda made it seem like he was discrediting his marvelous and, in my opinion, his BEST work & per4mances in his "wild" younger days. Prince ALWAYS had a positive message. Maybe he was misunderstood. But that didn't mean it was negative. I wish he NEVER said that statement. As an artist, I would LOVE 2 make those so-called "mistakes" that he did.
