Kelly it is huge, you are right. Our summer electric bills at times were
well over $300 a month. The A/c is a big help in controlling our daughter's
seizures and the discount does help us it more. Downside.. My wife is always
cold!
We just recently also contacted our gas company. They provide a similar
"medical" discount program. When the form arrived it had options to check.
Of course a doctor note was one but there was also a box for Medicare /
Medical recipient. All we had to do was provide her Medical # and it was
approved. Of course heat is NOT something we want but they understand
families with serious ill person(s) usually need financial help.

That is awesome! I wonder if several people on this list would not
benefit from the simple act of keeping their house cooler but cannot
because of cost. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. Possibly
this is a tip that could really impact some people's lives.
