Pat,
Thank you for helping me prove my point. When you break it down to the cellular level you realize that it is a lot more complex than you would ever think. Each individual cell needs many "materials" to function correctly and the mitochondria specifically produce the energy needed for the body. There are too many possible causes for dysfunction in the cell that by trying to boil it down to one mineral, you are insulting our intelligence.
Once again, I am not saying that a person with severe magnesium deficiency can't have a list of symptoms that include seizures, I am saying that even if they did have a magnesium deficiency, what is the cause? Perhaps the cell cannot metabolize magnesium properly, maybe there is a genetic cause, maybe the body has a sever auto-immune response, maybe the body has an infection, maybe the body has any number of conditions.
Maybe magnesium isn't the problem at all, maybe it is a whole laundry list of dysfunction and deficiencies, maybe it is trauma, maybe it is a mutation, maybe, maybe, maybe, we are not qualified, nor is any doctor in the world, to say that a singular mineral deficiency is the cause of any symptom.
All I am saying Shan is that it is irresponsible to claim that the only cause for anybody's problems on here is a lack of magnesium in the body. Anybody who has taken human biology or a basic psychology class can attest to this.

Shan, I don't know if you were responding to a ? or making one in your recent post. However as you know I have studied much too for my daughters sake. In my opinion the cause of a seizure is not "the electrical activity" however the faulty electrical activity is the result of the cause. I have found much valuable help by reading on MITOCHONDRIAL DYSFUNCTION and Mitochondria, which is/ are the energy power plant within all cells. Yes scar tissue is involved at the cellular level. If one also reads up on the process of Epileptogenesis this relationship is readily understandable. One begins to fuel the other, leading to a perpetual process.
From Wikipedia:(focus on #3 below)
Epileptogenesis is a process by which a normal brain develops epilepsy, a chronic condition in which seizures occur.[1] The process, which is gradual, occurs in symptomatic epilepsy, in which seizures are caused by an identifiable lesion in the brain.[2] It results from acute brain insults such as traumatic brain injury (physical trauma to the brain), stroke, or infection. Epileptogenesis is a series of events that occur between the event that causes epilepsy and the first spontaneous seizure.[3] In epileptogenesis, an array of events occur on molecular and cellular levels that cause neurons to fire in a disordered manner, resulting in seizures.
There is much written on this and a short yet easy to understand book for us non medical folks to follow and better connect your info on the general process of cellular redox signaling, healing, disease and overall body health at the cellular level where seizures originate is "The Science of Healing Revealed, New Insights into Redox Signaling" by Gary Samuelson, PhD.
All living things originate at the cell level and this short book really helps one to understand this and regarding EPILEPSY the last line of the Wikipedia definition above should catch all of our interests. The sooner we begin to understand this neuronal firing process and its dysfunction and causes of it we can begin to understand our own body and its own deficiency and hopefully based on each of our own particular "REASON" for epilepsy begin to eliminate the source which for some may be serizure freedom and or as in my daughters case greatly reduced seizure activity and greatly reduced medication regimen which all translates into better quality of life for her. I urge everyone here to get and read the paperbook, it's only 56 pages long and filled plus 6 more reference pages.
