Re: [epilepsy] Re: eliminating no possibility

Samiam,
I'm just one of All the guiney pigs, but I wonder if it's not a practice that doctors might continuously do to keep us coming back over and over to get a change to either the level of one of our medicines or to change from one medicine in our combination of drugs to another. I've been on 22+ different medicines since '74, I was only seeing a family doctor and took only dilantin and phenobarbital & was safe behind the wheel.I began to see a neurologist in '80,the Dilantin & phenabaritol  was changed to Dilantin & other and on. Then, in '84 the Dilantin was changed to Tegretol for a few weeks, then something else with the other. Then Three medicines for twenty-two years. Then adifferent neurologist reduced my seizure freqency and my intake of medicines down to two medicines. Another neurologist changed those to what I'm now takeing and again improved the number of seizures to one every 9-13 weeks. I hope it will be improved again since my next
appoitment with a gret doctor is next monday in NY city.

Hello All.
I hope that your next decision will be the best and last. I don't know how many different med's you have tried over the years but look further into the VNS. I just had it planted 6 weeks ago after 20+ years of uncontrolled attacks and it seems to be working even though it is too early to be definitely certain.
