Auto-immune disease runs heavily in my family, my son has PID and my birthmother has MS, I have yet to be diagnosed but it is looking like I have an immune problem, I suppose all of these could be due to a lack of magnesium? Give me a break. We supplemented my son heavily with everything that we could, nothing broke through until his PID was actually treated with IVIG therapy.
The point? Seizures could possibly be caused by an auto-immune response in the brain or the breakdown of myelin.
Shan, once again I do not doubt that a serious magnesium deficiency could cause a rash of symptoms, any claim that is made in absolutes must be challenged. Not everyone on here will be "cured" simply because they supplemented magnesium, you are preaching false hope and it annoys me.

The Magnesium Factor and The Magnesium Miracle are books. And magnesium does not treat Bartonella nor Lyme in the way you are implying - both Bartonella bacteria and Lyme bacteria deplete magnesium in a big way; they use it to make bioflims and reproduce.[most bacteria use iron to reproduce etc] But because of this unless a person whom has Bartonella or Lyme wishes to have symptoms of magnesium deficiency, they supplement a form of magnesium that they can absorb - some have IVs, some have injections , some take oral magnesium, but most use transdermal magnesium. Magnesium does not treat Bartonella nor Lyme - it treats the symptoms of magnesium deficiency. It is just that many people will those diseases care about their health and take responsibility for it.
