[epilepsy] CEASE AND DESIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, folks.

This stops now. I don't want to have to put everyone on moderate, but I will if you don't knock off the fighting. There's something really sad about having a new member walk right into a stupid brawl like this and think all we're about is insulting each other. The fact is that a magnesium deficiency is a common problem with epi because of the meds we take. They often slow or prevent proper absorption...but mag is not a cure-all. I know. I have tried it myself, and I have much milder epi than most of you here, but I still need meds for complete control. CASE CLOSED. If you want to continue to "debate" or bicker about this, take it off-list. If I see another argumentative post on this subject, moderation will begin immediately.

THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am starting to get the feeling this board is hostile. Why are others PUSHING opinions on members in this group and belittling those who do not agree? Isn't there a moderator here or is this type of behavior acceptable? i thought this was a safe place to talk about personal issues like seizures and depression without having magnesium supplements shoved down your throat? Don't people with seizure disorders face enough without having to come here and be treated like this. i am disappointed!

Why don't you try using transdermal magnesium and see is your headaches go away? or are you afraid of being proved wrong? For that matter, have you ever heard of an informed opinion? You might try it - maybe people will even respect you more. Plus at the least listening to you would be informative. I have posted here studies and have also posted places where anyone can find their own studes - those people whom are interested in having an informed opinion will check them out.

It isn't appropriate to say that all szs result from mag deficiency (and I don't recall seeing that in Shan's post), but AEDs are, in fact, known to deplete mag, D, and other crucial vitamins and minerals. When I told my endocrinologist that I was still having SP clusters at season change a few years ago, she suggested adding mag. I checked it with my neurosurgeon (who manages all my brain matters), and he said it might help. It took some of the punch out of them, and I didn't have as many, but my SPs didn't stop. Even so, it was worth trying,
