Hi Marie,
I'm so sorry to hear about your eyes getting weaker. I've never read anything as far as lamictal causing harm to eyes. In no way am I trying to make this funny in anyway at all so please please don't take this the wrong way, OK. I wear glasses, have been since the mid 70s and of course over the years they have gotten worse. A few years ago even went to tri-focals. And of course each day I live I get older, the older you get, the worse your eyes get very often, thats life! In my right eye my sight is 20/200. With glasses they are only 20/40. There is a reason for those bad eyes, can't remember what its called that I have (my great memory). But remember, as we all get older, the worse our eyes get. Might it simply be you are getting older. Like, so many friends I have that I play tennis with more and more wearing glasses, needing strengthening them each year. Might it be playing tennis causing the problem. Of course not (smile)!
How long ago did you begin wearing glasses? Was this before you began taking lamictal? Did your Eye Dr. give you a name for the cause of you eye or eyes getting weaker? There are so many different reasons allot of our eyes get weaker. Why not take a look at the web site below. It has nothing to do with epilepsy of medications. Its simply an eye web site explaining different eye problems ect... Hope it all works out for the best! Take care, keep a smile on your face!
