Re: [fast5] Re: On I go...

Food issues do get confusing. I found that on Fast5 the food issues are more obvious, and so it's easier to see what is going on. Also by and large, things digest better.

As for grains though ... actually a lot of people don't digest them well. The proteins in wheat NEVER digest completely in human beings, and never have. We lack the correct enzymes. For at least some people, the undigested proteins end up having an opiate effect on the brain, which might be one reason people eat them and they've become part of our culture. It's still all being studied though. We'll figure it all out eventually.

What I found with beans though, is that after my digestion healed, beans digest just fine. Probiotics helped a lot with that .... S. Boulardii is a great one, and for sale at our local pharmacy even. Konjac powder also is good (1/4 tsp. mixed with water, with meals).

Thanks for the post. I find being really "empty" before I break my fast is showing me what I am sensitive to. I was very excited to enjoy some bean soup but found I am horribly sensitive. The bloat and digestive discomfort was awful. Same problem with grains. I can eat some but I do feel better with none. I discovered sensitivity to corn too. It's difficult to say no to some of these items I used to enjoy. But WHY was I enjoying them beyond the "taste" when first past my
 lips?
