Re: [fast5] Back to FAST-5 for good

Mary,
I've lost 42# and still need a c-pap machine. Discouraging, but they don't know why I have it. But I did have my dentist make me a mouth guard that does the same thing. At least it is better than the c-pap. I hope losing enough weight for both of us will eliminate having anything to breath. I need to lose 40# more.

Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

Hi Mary - I, too, started (again) about the same time you did. Today marks 5 weeks completed. Congratulations on all the positive benefits you've noticed! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're able to lose the Apnea machine.

I'm pretty happy with this way of eating - I've also lost weight, though only in the first week, which is a little frustrating. But my arthritis symptoms have disappeared (I'm VERY happy about that!) and I'm thrilled with being back in control. I had snacked my way up to 15 lbs MORE than my all time highest weight. Something had to change. My eating window is 4-7pm (shortening it doesn't seem to have any negative effect so I'll carry on), which means I get almost no opportunity to snack.

Let's hope we can both post happy results in the future.

Best,
(other) Mary

Subject: [fast5] Back to FAST-5 for good

At the beginning of the year my relationship with food got so poor.  I didn't like what I was eating and choosing to eat...I was basically doing a lo carb diet.  So of course, all kinds of things were OFF LIMITS.

I reread Fast-5 and decided it was time for me to TAKE CONTROL.
I am in the middle of week 5, and I now remember that I am eating for nourishment alone...not for emotional support, or any other reason.  I am eating in my window only...my blood pressure is wonderful...i've lost about 6 lbs...my clothes are fitting better, and I feel empowered.

I reread the book, cover to cover and realized that my body will thrive with this way of eating.  It has for almost 5 weeks and I am fully prepared to ENJOY the process of eating to LIVE AND NOT livING TO EAT!

I usually keep my window between 1 and 6....I will go later in the day...but I do not care at all for having anything late at night.  I never have been a NIGHT eater.  This is my year, 2012 was wonderful as I reduced medications and was able to exercise more...
This year will be a year of weight loss, and maybe I'll even lose the CPAP machine for APNEA...MAYBE!!
Wish me luck!
MARY
