Doris,
I took your suggestion and got some hot tea. I don't drink coffee.
Yes, I had some szs after they were born but I don't think when they were
little. My 3 daughters are all in their 50's now. After May they
will be 53, 55, and 57.
I wish that I had kept record of when I had my szs and what had been
going on , etc-- but I didn't. That may be a suggestion for those of you
who are just starting with EP now.
My szs were not often--maybe once every year or 2 or 3 or more.. I really don't
know.I have not had surgery. My license was taken away when I was DX for 1 year.
I've been driving most of the time since. In Indiana the Dr. decides when
you can drive.I was a stay at home mom so I really didn't need to drive much.
Only after my divorce 38 years ago-- then I started working. I was a home health
aid for 25 years plus.
When my szs changed from grand mal to something like complex partial about
17 years ago -- I decided to move into my present apt in the retirement center. I did
that so that people would know how I usually am and when I was getting a sz
they could call my 2 daughters who live in town. I tell people when I don't smile,
act like I don't hear them, don't answer their questions, don't ask questions or stare
and at the end I don't talk at all--- they are to call my daughters. I don't pass out now.
I sold my car about 4 years ago -- so I go by retirement bus or shuttle, my daughters
or friends,.
I really didn't know any body from NC until this last Sept. I started writing to a guy then--
so it is interesting that you live in NC. I live in northern IN and we have snow, sleet
and rain predicted for today. The ground is all covered with about 4 or 5 inches of
snow. It is 30 degrees.
What took you to NC from New York? Thanks for writing to me..
If you would like to write one- one -- my address is mylmy@gogreencroft.net
Millie

Hi Millie,
Your note caught my eye especially since you mentioned it
beginning over 50 years ago. This is what I have experienced
too. Have you had seizures continue after the children were
born? Did you had temporal surgery for the seizures. If so,
how long ago and did it come positive or with what changes.
I began seizures 51 years ago. I had the surgery and my seizures
changed from during the day only to when asleep only. This is
much better since I could get my license back which I lost when
a teenager.
Have a nice day and cup of something. Sitting here with
coffee and thinking about what you wrote. What state are
you from? I am presently from NC, but I am previously a
New Yorker for many years.
Have a nice day.
Doris :-)

My doctor doesnt' even know but he suspended my license for a month and increased my Trileptol to 1,200 per day, which is two pills per day, rather than 1.5 per day. How do you prevent seizures as he said that computer and tv time has nothing to do w/it and he said that hormones isn't causing it as I thought it was having night sweats but he said no.
