[epilepsy] too much Vimpat

 

Well, I also spoke today to the neurologist's place. I was increasing this new medicine while coming off another. Recently the pharmacist said that they tried to call the neurologist's and couldn't get a refill cause the neuro's place had my wrong date of birth. Yet I just confirmed that wasn't true. Also, I learned that the pharmacy had prescribed me too much Vimpat. I was to be taking 100mg a day, no 100 in the morn and the same at night. The neurologist's office told me this today and that the pharmacy is claiming that someone called it in but the office had no record of this, plus "if it was to be increased, the doctor would have told you".

So now I'm scared. I've been taking 200mg a day since May 21. I had a major seizure last Sunday into Monday. I wonder if that might have been a breakthrough episode because of too much Vimpat? And am I really at a lot of risk if I lower it tonight? The neurologist herself is supposed to call me back, so I'll ask.
