[fast5] Re: Water and hunger

When my brother-in-law was in the Marine corps they told them to drink plenty of water but not to over do it as they have lost plenty of men to dehydration as well as hyponatremia (too much water). Drinking too much water will dilute sodium to a point where the heart can no longer function, especially in athletes who sweat profusely and lose water and sodium during exercise.

I really don't like water that much but since I commute by bike I have to make sure I replenish what I lose. I think the other thing that happened is that I tried to go very low carb. Previously I had been eating a Big A$$ Salad every day which contains 80-90% water. When I went ultra low carb I stopped eating my salads which were a big source of hydration for me. I upped my protein and fat which contained very little water. Then the weather got much hotter and I sweated a lot more. I think all of these things combined made me dehydrated. I'm back on track now as my hunger has gone way down since starting to drink several glasses of water at night.

I'm glad you made that point though. Hyponatremia is rare but certainly worth being aware of. :)
