I am on lamictal and keppra. I was on topomax and w/ the topomax I lost 50lbs in about 6 months or so. Well my doc took me off the topomax 4 that reason well since than i have gained that weight back and now am heavier than ever b4. So i know it messed w/ my immune system somewhere but, not sure. The lamictal has been Great and I thank the doctors for coming up w/ it cause I have been seizure fre 4 almost ayr now. The only possible side effects I know of is it tastes nasty-lol. Otherwise perfect 4 me. Your son you'd be better to weigh your options w/ ur doc seeing as he has other underlying problems too. Hope this helps...

Hi all,
My son (12 yrs with diagnosis of Cerebral palsy and epilepsy ) is currently on Keppra and Trileptal. I am planning to change his medications ( due to some recent health developments ) and have been recommended by his neuro for Lamictal and Topamax . Any feedback (esp on the side effects ) on these two medications is highly appreciated. We looked into Keto diet but according to the Keto specialist based on his age ,it may not work.
