Re: [epilepsy] I am NOT happy!!!

Oh Mark, that is not the words you need is it now. Be thankful though at least you had the stable enough to
be able to tell them you didn't need the hospital. As long as there is no broken bones no deep wounds of any
kind that need fixing there is no need for that. You were wise to just be able to get your folks to come to
get you. That is what our life is like eh?? It doesn't seem to matter what we take or what kind of op. they
do on us we got it and just accept us the way we are.
Just hope the seizures don't stick around with the increase in meds. Take care and all we can do is hope and
pray that is going to be the last. Stay relaxed and don't get all up tight because of no driving etc...just
one seizure don't know why they did that for...hopefully it won't be for long.

Subject: [epilepsy] I am NOT happy!!!

After a year and a half without seizures, I had one last night. I was at martial arts class, when my visual
perception started going whacko. I started towards the side of the room, and the next thing I know is waking
up on the floor with everyone hovering around me. Then the paramedics showed up.
They kept me on the floor and let me regain my bearings. I am fortunate to be able to become fully aware
shortly after waking up. They asked me the standard simple questions, and (I guess) after they thought I was
coherent enough (and sitting up), they asked if I wanted to go to the hospital. When I said no, they had me
sign a form stating that I refused treatment, made sure I was ok, and then left me with my instructor and
classmates. Needless to say, I didn't work out any more the rest of the class.
After class, I called my folks to come and get me. While waiting for them, my instructor said he was
surprised at how fast I recovered from the seizure, because it had been about an hour since it happened and I
was standing up and talking to him like nothing had happened.
Unfortunately, now I'm back to square one. No driving, no climbing ladders, and an increase in my Keppra. I
hope and pray that that was the last (I repeat - LAST) seizure I'll ever have. Doubtful, but only time will
tell.

God bless,

Mark S.
