[epilepsy] Re: Fireworks show

Boy can I relate to what you said (smile)! Flashing lights like fireworks, firetrucks, police cars, ambulances, watching a movie in a movie theater, changing of the screen from TV or computer even oncoming tfaffic at night all affect our eyes which inturn can bring on seizures. Some of us are more light sensitive than others.

You mentioned a feeling before a seizure. Is what you mean is an aura? Its a common feeling for allot of us before a seizure. Technically an aura is a seizure in itself. I never had an aura (warning) of a seizure coming on. I simply went into a seizure. I did have aura's now and then but never leaded into seizures.

When you felt that feeling before the seizure, at that time where you able to hear and speak during that time? If so, you could have been having a simple partial seizure. During a simple partial seizure you are aware of things but can't talk or hear, and at the same time might not be 100% alert. Would be interested in hear from you more. Take care, keep a smile on your face!

During the show I realized something was happening to me, it felt like a panick attack. I relocated myself out of the stadium and tried to breathe calmly. Things got worse, I was crying and hyperventilating. Then came the seizure.
