For me, when I break fast (between 12 pm to 1), I would be ready for a good-sized meal (not a "gorge" meal, of course, just regular). Then toward the end of my window, I usually want a lighter supper (having perhaps had a snack in there, too). So I try to listen to what my body is asking for.
Also, by having an idea of the nutrients/foods I really want to obtain in my diet, I tend to prioritize those foods as my planned meals/snacks, and I find that doesn't leave much room or desire for the junk. So on that end, I think planning is crucial to my own success. Otherwise, I break fast and grab chips out of the pantry....ha!
Ultimately, for me incorporating fasting into my own life: I *aim* for nutrient-sense foods, listen to my body and its cues and clues on health, and worry less about volume, calories, etc unless I'm feeling hungry or weak in my fasting window. In my experience, it truly doesn't take long to find your personal balance.

When I did the fast5 religiously, during a five hour window I would eat normally, but certainly not only one meal. Would worry about your getting the needed nutrients from food, if eating so little.
By the way, this method was the ONLY way I lost weight and felt healthier for the effort. A long break in the routine temporarily got me off track. So glad to see some conversation going on within the group. It's helping to stimulate that desire to jump on the bandwagon again! It really does work!
