Re: [epilepsy] Oh thank you so very much, here's the reason I asked

I have never had major issues with my libido with either depakote or
lamictal (lamotrigine) - it is also used for bipolar folks for a mood
stabilizer. The ones that gave me issues are prob not meds they would
prescribe for epilipesy. I do not know that being male or female is a huge
difference when it comes to how meds affect a persons libido, I would
imagine it is more along an 'each person' type of thing..we all have
different reactions to meds. For instance, my g/f is on topamax for her
seizures, yet they tried to prescribe it to me (in lower dosages of course)
for my migraines. It made my blood pressure skyrocket...yet for most, it
lowers the blood pressure. Each individual has differences. Overall...I
personally preferred lamictal, it has less of a weight issue for me
personally, but I was changed once when I was having to pay out of pocket
for meds, and wasnt put back on it later.

Hope this helps!
