Re: [epilepsy] Hello

Hello,
Yes I have been in touch with my gyn, had a procedure to get my period under control. In the past, my seizures came when they felt , I kept and still do a calender. Now, as my period goes. I didnt have it for a year !!! it came back  last  Saturday  darn it... what is a woman to do...lol  As for my neurologist ?  no, he hasnt changed any medication, he's hoping that as my periods end that the seizures will lesson, I have told him about the "water" trigger.Brushing my teeth??... taking out batteries... that was a while ago, all he did was type it into my chart. He said, I want to send you to another  special sz doc...  what do you think ?..... we had talked about the VNS..... many many years   ago  But at the time my children were young, and I would have to go to the Cleveland  Clinic Long drive for me Not now, it's closer this is just an evaluation. See, how it goes. My doc, has sent me to Boston and Yale..... nothing.....  and after all the
testing, I come home feeling drained  a little pissy  Yale staff is so lovely  too bad I wasnt....lol.
Then again nothing will trigger a seizure a lovely wonderful day  and I will have a seizure.
Walking my puggle and I have to sit, she turns and looks at me, that is all I remember. I am back again... She is sitting next to me looking at me...lol  well MA....
My brain.....
Thank you so much for listening....
Pam

Hi Pam

I am no doctor here, but I do know that anything with 'change' can start to cause our seizures to start up

again or act funny. This is just from experience as I have them too. You mentioned 'menopause'. Did the

water have any effect on your seizures in any way before this? Menopause, your body is changing once again. I

went for years without a seizure, although was lived in a foggy world because of all the meds. At least there

were no seizures, then bam menopause hit me and so did the seizures. Now that it is over, the seizures have

come back for another visit, this time different types and strengths.

The water..have you noticed a difference not brushing your teeth with and 'electric' brush? Have your told

your doctor about the water and ask him why. Make sure you ask every question in the book when you see them,

even though it may seem not necessary. It just may be one of your triggers and he can help you through it.

Take care and keep smiling.

Julie

I was diagnosed with complex partial in 1998. After EEG'S MRI'S, wearing EEG'S for a week at home. My doc has

sent me for 2nd... 3rd... opinions... Boston... I have been on every med, cocktail ... I was working until the

year 2000, drove until 2 years ago I think. Yes my memory stinks. I am seeing a doctor on Tuesday for a

consult for a VNS, currently my meds ?

Trileptal, Topamax, Vimpax, The complex partials... have progressed through the years, my auroras can be

brought on by water, and ofcourse menopause...with a period that comes and goes...
