I was switched to Keppra XR about 2 months ago. I couldn't tell much
difference in them. It done me quite the opposite as far as being tired. I
had to quit drinking pop with caffeine in it because I couldn't sleep at
night. The neurologist I talked to the other day said that the Keppra XR
stays in your bloodstream at the same level instead of entering your
bloodstream slowly like the regular Keppra does. I had mine reduced a little
to see if there was any difference. It seems like I worried a lot and was
moody. I don't think it had to do with the change in the new Keppra XR,
because I had been the regular Keppra for about 8 years. I think the main
reason they switched mine to the Keppra XR was because the regular Keppra,
they started giving me the generic. With the generic I had more seizures
everytime I took it.I take Neurontin with it, which it doesn't stop the
seizures completely, but they are not nearly as bad as they used to be.I
hope this helps you. If there is anything else I can help you with, write
anytime.Take care.
