Millie,
My seizures are complex-partials, sometimes they begin as simple partial which quickly/instantly switch over to become complex, when consciousness is lost. My seizures become complex partial so quickly, that I hardly ever noticed the simple partial era. Auras are simple partial seizures. Complex-partials can sometimes progress into generalized seizures, mine have never done so, they remain partial by remaining in the brains left side, mine have never progressed into the right side to become general by being in both sides.
I don't want to use another sign, I use MedicAlert necklace and MedicAlert watch both have a phone # for paramedics to call.
Both say. "PARTIAL COMPLEX SEIZURES, EPILEPSY,
SPEECH & MOTOR DELAYED.
Only once did a paramedic ever notice one and act correctly.
Also since they look into my wallet to get my name or insurance info., they couldn't help but see the large word EPILEPSY as soon as they fold it open.
Currently my seizures, (which I'm aware of) happen once every 4-7 wks., once it was 12wks.+3days. Some may occur that I'm not at all aware of.

Hi Tim,
When you are out is there any way you can put a sign on your person
that if you become unconscious -- please don't send you to the
hospital.
Do you have another person who can be called? I have my daughters
phone numbers in my medical alert. Could you carry a paper on your
shirt so that you aren't taken to the hospital.
I know what you mean that you can't answer after a sz. In fact
it sounds like you are having grand mals . With complex partials
I don't become unconscious like I did with GM - but also my
daughters tell me my brain is scrambled for a day or 2.
