Spikes would be increased neuron activity, which is what seizures look
like on an EEG, but not all spikes are seizures. Be aware that it is
possible to have clean EEG when having seizures. EEG's can only be used
to verify seizures, but not to rule them out if suspected.

I am sorry she's going through this. I know first hand what the
chiari/epilepsy combination is like. Just one of those is hard enough.
