What kind(s) of transportation do you use, considering Cars are not an option for people with Epilepsy?Created by: violingoddesss
For what feels like forever, I've been trying to find a way to acquire/create/find some assemblence of INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION for people like us. A way that won't have to depend on undependable buses, burdened friends and family, expensive taxi service & and complicated interconnected public transportation! After years of search I still have come up with nothing more than waiting for the "Google Car" to become available to the public. (you know, the one that has been proven to drive a blind man around San Francisco without a problem!
So I'm sending out this email to find out what other people with epilepsy use for their transportation needs when trying to get to work on time, meet a friend for a movie, go camping, visit family in another part of the state, travel out of state, etc. You know, just get around like normal people do. But they've taken for granted their cars. The one thing that separates them from us. Our ability to have independant means of transportation!!
I've also attached a poll to this post, please feel free to answer both the post and the poll.
Thank you!
Desperately Yours,
Violin Goddess
My choices from the above list are:
1: #8(Bicycle)
2: #1/3(Bus/Subway)
3: #5(Friends and Family)
I live in the D.C.-Metro region. Where transportation possibilities are many.
I have a 20-Speed (road)racing bike. Which is my main source of transportation. I ride my bike for necessity. While riding it for necessity, I can also utilize it for recreation, and exercise.
I only ride the Bus/Train on inclement weather days, or to get to one of three major airports in the region.
