RE: [epilepsy] How to get around town without a drivers license!!??

Hi,

I live in a small town outside of Boston.  There's a bus system, but it's limited and doesn't run on Sundays.
To get to work, I have to take a cab to the commuter rail, then the subway, and walk.  At least coming home, the paratransit system picks me up.
But I do have to rely on friends...moving closer to my job just means higher rent, since Boston has great transportation. So I feel your pain!

Thanks Everyone so much for responding so much to the post!!!!

But I have a few aspects of MY circumstance that makes the Metro, and Subways, and the like not an option for me.  I live in a tiny community in the Redwoods on the CA coast.  The only "public transit" they offer are city buses, that go by every hour (in one direction) and stop at 6pm.  And the Intra-city but that comes by more often, and goes through the little towns on the coast.  Around 100 miles of coastline (it takes 45 minutes to get from my house to the only community college in the county!)  There are only 27,000 people who live in my town, and it's the largest in the county, and the county seat!!

You see my restrictions???

So any of you who live in tinyier communities could weigh in, that would be great.  Plus anyone who has ideas that would still work in a small community like this, please by all means!!!!

Sincerely,
Violin Goddess
