I can't stand generics and would rather pay more for a prescription of the real
thing.If the prescription doesn't say Brand Name only.If a generic is
available,the pharmacy will provide that to you w/o your request.Generics have
lower quality,but;I'd rather pay more for the real thing.After getting a
prescription for Keppra XR it was replaced with a generic at a reduced price for
90 days of pills.I took two weeks to get a new prescription.Then I trashed the
generics.

I went through it with the Keppra. I got switched a couple of times to the
generic, and I had seizures after a couple of doses. I am on the KeppraXR
now, and I am on the generic of it, which might be part of the reason I till am
not fully controlled, but medicaid won't pay for the brand name.
It seems like if you start out on the brand name it won't work as well when
you switch over to generic. Your neurologist might can get it preauthorized
for you if you can tell a difference and bothersome side effects. TC
