Re: [epilepsy] Different generic

Caryn,

I went through it with the Keppra. I got switched a couple of times to the
generic, and I had seizures after a couple of doses. I am on the KeppraXR
now, and I am on the generic of it, which might be part of the reason I
still am not fully controlled, but medicaid won't pay for the brand name.
It seems like if you start out on the brand name it won't work as well when
you switch over to generic. Your neurologist might can get it preauthorized
for you if you can tell a difference and bothersome side effects. TC
