Re: [epilepsy] SS Disability

You do not have to have a lawyer to get SSDI. Visit SSDI.gov to get
the application, find out the rules, and what you need to do. Having a
lawyer is your choice, and only some lawyers are approved to take SSDI
cases. They cannot turn down cases, their fee is preset by law, and
they get nothing if you lose.

Basics
-Disability must be expected to last at least 12 months or result in death
-You must not be able to perform any job for which you are trained or
educated, or for which you could reasonably become trained or educated.
(not just the job you had)
-You must have worked at least 5 of the last 10 years unless you are 20
or younger (in which case different rules apply)
-You must have medically relevant documentation to support your claim of
disability
