P's fan base I feel is a lot stronger over-seas. I think he gets the recognition he deserves but, from time to time I look at European magazines like Q and there's always an article on Prince. You almost never see that here in the states unless it's 'gossip' or if he puts out an album or does some sort of performance. I don't have a subscription to 'Q', perhaps I should but, again, they always have something on Prince. Hell, you'd think the Minneapolis or Minnesota papers would keep up with his every move like we do in the Yahoo! Groups and some forums we frequent but 'nah' ...

| NICE Pop Culture is very different in Europe and I understand why Prince quickly plays there, they aren't as 'judgmental' about the music But it's cool to hear about the bassist and definately Sheila E. Now put Wendy on guitar and Lisa dense chords Ida Nielsen aka Ida Funkhouser, BassIda TC Electronic equipment:RH450, 2xRS210 Myspace: www.myspace.com/girlonbass BassIda is an extraordinary bass player who goes by a number of different artist names. You may know her as Ida Funkhouser or simply Ida Nielsen, but more importantly than any of her aliases is that she is an incredible player who revels in slap bass technique and is someone who can easily show off and demonstrate the many facets of bass playing. As well as her solo projects Ida has played with a number of different bands over the years. Her bass career started out in Århus, Denmark, where she developed her slap style to perfection. While she is busy playing in a number of bands her most high profile role is as the bass player in the funk sensation Zap Mama. This is an amazing cross-cultural group led by 'Afropean' vocalist and songwriter Marie Daulne. It is a band that fuses African music with R&B and Hip Hop, so it's certainly a bass playing challenge, but one that BassIda rises to with ease! BassIda's solo projects include her recent album Marmalade which is described as 'a mix of old school Hip Hop and 70's Funk with a touch of Nusoul, all with ear catching melodies and beautiful ballads'. As well as playing bass – of course – Ida plays all the other instruments on the album. Ida uses the TC Electronic RH450 with two RS210 cabinets. The presets on the amp allow her to easily switch the sound when using both her Yamaha 4-string ' and 5-string. --- On Thu, 9/30/10, ~*[[PFL]]*~ <qaidsharif@yahoo.com> wrote:
