Re: In Reply To: [epilepsy] Re: Can the Flu-Bug, Be harmful to someone with - Epilepsy?

Hello all,
I'd have 2 agree-with-U"
they say:
'the hand is quicker - than the eye?'
thou; if were blind?
but being sighted & thinking but' reaching for-something" all 3 are connected in a way.
but never disconnect even if disabled; - as for, well' I don't tell the world - but-it is really diffacult for someone sighted to-notice a disability even with: sight, but their senses don't notice.
listen"
I had just began working as sales-clerk, this was even years before my - Epilepsy started.
getting to know co-workers an a nice cleaning lady' out in the sales-floor, thou no body had told-me"
she had a disability, some-people wear I.D. emergency braclets - you never know when"
or where' well; as I was stocking merchandise in the sales floor: mid-afternoon hour, many in the store - over the glass-shelves I noticed her - about 2 isles away.
3-secconds later: just a scream & a bang-bang"
but looking over I didn't see her; and a shopper waving her hand to me, come here!
running over reaching the isle - on the floor was my co-worker laying still"
no injurys or broken glass' but slight cuts on her arm, and a bruse on her forhead.
reaching for the phone;calling for manager and assistance - my heart thumping!!!
feeling for her pulse, still she's out cold"
no shaking or foaming from mouth.
no trembling temp-seems normal"
I was shocked but speachless, still caring and as help arrives assisting her to rear break-room.
she never returnte to work"
thou she just left work.

at-least the dangers of even climbing ladders: she would in the stock-room, but we all need just too-be careful, sometimes it can seem' if we let the world know"
but in conditions: some people knew: they could have told-me, to just know and be aware - sometimes sudden things like that' anyone would just jump for help"
but calling for help and remaining aside untill alert, so after un-alert someone just doesn't get further hurt, if un-alert and or dizzy.
but disclosing disabilitys to your trusting surroundings - might just be the less of help someone can assist, if something really happens"
and no-one around you knows how to help; you.

Does Epilepsy make us shy? No, not a bit. BUT, the anti-seizure medication
dampens our brain waves so we don't react as quickly as most people in
social settings. We don't have the speed to keep up in a lot of social
conversations and bantering. The result is people who don't know us think
we're "slow". I don't tell everybody I have epilepsy; it's private
information.

I had a very bad experience with the flu bug in 2000. My temp got over 102
and I started having gran mals again. Five in one week that I was told
about. So I get my flu shot every year and keep plenty of Tylenol, Advil,
and Buffered Aspirin available. But if it comes, it comes. Such is life.
