Hello,
I've been seizure free for around 13 years. I admittedly don't participate
on the list because, frankly, everything is doing pretty good.
I'm writing a Christian inspirational novel where the main (male) character
has epilepsy. I'd like help from a few folks to in turn, help me create a
character whose epilepsy is portrayed as both believable, while on the side
of extreme.
My own case, a period of time mostly in the late 80s through the 90s, had
some of this, which I will incorporate. But, as fiction demands, tension and
conflict are essential elements, and I'm not sure my actual experiences are
"thrilling" enough! Not that a few car crashes and going into grandma
seizures couldn't qualify, I'd just like to compare notes I guess.
If you've got a few anecdotal stories you could pass along to me for me to
shape into my novel, I'd love to hear from you. Especially if you were
difficult to control. I was fortunate to be given Keppra way back when, and
it worked like a charm for me. (I'm aware it doesn't work for everyone.)

Many thanks.
