Peanut butter that has the oil on top is the purest of peanut butter. It is not pasteurized so the peanut oil will separate. I grew up with this type. We always stored it upside down which made it easier to stir the oil back in. We also mixed it with rendered pork lard and bird seed for cheap bird feeders. Our feathered friends loved it. It was our favorite also, it sticks to the roof of your mouth. Our dog loved it also, funny to watch.

I've never heard of/tried that brand but Adams is like that and you have to stir it well before using. Keeping it in the refrigerator after thoroughly stirring will help it stay mixed longer.

I opened a jar of *Sunland* brand Peanut Butter and found the product to be excessively oily. I tasted it and found the it not of my liking. I am not sure if it is just me, so I want to get others opinions about the oily nature (oil floating on top).
