With certain conditions/syndromes (in this case epilepsy) one needs to inform company before being hired as more of a just in case. What if coworkers/supervisor didn't know you had a history of seizures & you come to work one day & end up having a major episode needing 911 to be called? They would tell emergency crews you had never had one before which would/could severely alter the way you are stableized (ie maybe you are given a heavy dose of a med you are allergic to).
Also its a good idea in case you were to hit your head on a desk/counter top. That way it keeps the company from being sued over head trauma caused by seizure instead of being caused by say desks being too close together causeing a fall hazard.
At the same time, and main point is being fired for having epilepsy is illegal. There maybe no reason clauses depending on the state you live in (missouri is one) that the company can fire anyone for any reason...if you live in such a state than case would be harder to fight.
