[epilepsy] OTC meds

Funny, this thread came up just as I was getting over Strep. I work with kids, so I get colds, a lot. Epileptics can't take decongestants- nothing like sudafed, zurtek- D, Robitussin-D, Tylenol cold and sinus, etc. But we can take Flonaz. You need a prescription for it, but my GP just gives me one and I can refill it as needed. Its used as an allergy medicine usually, but unlike zurtek or claratin, you can take it occasionally- it doesn't need to build up in your blood stream. And it's generic, with Express Scripts it only cost me $7 at Giant Foods. It lasts a long time too, I only need 1-2 per school year.
(Of course, I don't know the spellings of any of these drugs, because they always have extra letters and use "z" and "y"too much. Like, why does Keppra have two "p"s?)
I take Ibprofin for headaches, I have never had an after seizure headache.
Feel better!
