They start dosing based on weight, Dawn, but what really matters is if you are in the therapeutic range in your bloodstream or not. Megan took 4000 mgs of Keppra and 800 of Lamictal a day and weighed about 140 at the time. Now she's on Depakote and actually takes fewer mgs and it works better for her. It tends to take longer to leave the bloodstream, and I think that is why.
