That's what I thought at first too, but if you read the posts from the new york media a lot of them it will be a residency like he did in london 2007. Yes, we have 2 c but me thinks the NYC media might be right.

The purple one announced a multi-city tour beginning in December. Titled "Welcome 2 America" the tour will feature guest appearances by Cassandra Wilson, Lalah Hathaway, Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding, andJanelle Monae, whom he called his "favorite new artist."
During a packed press conference at the historic Apollo Theater in New York City
Prince also plugged the education documentary "Waiting for Superman" and announced that the gold-plated Fender guitar he would be playing on the tour would be auctioned off to the Harlem Children's Zone.
