I got a reply to my post about fasting from the author:
"Your routine sounds outstanding to me! Do not change anything. I admire your stamina and hope that I can do the same at 60."
Well, that's very nice, but I wonder now why he is recommending donuts, and the frequent ingestion of various food constituents to fuel short-term performance, if he also thinks that day-fasting and exercise are such great ideas. Anyway, I thanked him for his kind comments and posted a follow-up asking precisely this.

Actually, the source article from Psychology Today is even more reprehensible, since it's by a PhD (which we're presumably supposed to accept as a token of credibility). I've posted a comment to the source article ("a strange anomaly"), describing my fasting regime and its beneficial effect on my physical and mental state, and asking whether the author believes a donut would further improve my condition. I hope he understands the question is meant ironically!

This has got to be the stupidest health article I have seen!
I guess people can use "science" for their wishful thinking!
